I am a registered Patent Attorney in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, bringing over 27 years of professional experience to international intellectual property practice. I specialize in assisting clients with securing and managing robust IP portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.
My foundation combines technical depth with legal expertise, anchored by an Associate Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Tokyo Metropolitan College of Aeronautical Engineering and a Master of Intellectual Property from the University of Technology Sydney.
Prior to entering the IP field, I began my career as a network engineer at an IT subsidiary of a major international airline in Japan. I transitioned into intellectual property at a Tokyo-based patent firm, serving concurrently as a patent attorney and IT manager.
Upon moving to Australia, I practised with Pizzeys Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys across their Canberra, Brisbane, and Singapore offices. Over the course of my career, I have managed and prosecuted more than a thousand patent matters in advanced technologies, including telecommunications, automotive engineering, medical devices, airport technology, and software/IT systems.
Beyond my professional practice, I am a certified tennis coach and competitive club player, actively involved in Canberra community programs that promote cultural and professional exchange between Australia and Japan.
